I think openly opposing gunman/ai/or any individual regardless of how we feel personally *cannot* have a good result.

To be honest, our regular membership works well enough to put people into check anyway. The likes of Del, Forester and Scaley have all challenged Josh, Paul, Guy and BigUK publicly without the need for us to interject. It's the beauty of this forum that it's almost self-policing.

Aye, not wrong there. Over 15 years involved in most aspects of Airsoft (and having to deal with the fuckwit element on a weekly basis when running a site years ago) has given me the worlds shortest fuse. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but to my memory despite various falling out, dodgy posts and other issues, I've never knowingly moderated any of the other moderators posts.
The reason being (rightly or wrongly) is that I find it very agressive and inflamatory , and when it's done to me I react accordingly . We have all been here since the start, we all know each other well enough not to have to do this . If you really object that strongly to anything I ever write , then PM me , call me , discuss... editing me like a little schoolboy just serves to get my back up . Despite Stephen's summation above, I'm a firm believer in reasoned debate over emotional response .
Heh!! Not saying you react emotionally Guy, just that you say what you mean, and mean what you say; whereas I sometime speak with a forked tongue....although sometimes that backfires on me! 
I actually consulted with other mods before editing things Guy.
I firmly believed that given us not seeing eye to eye that it would result in an argument (and in fact asked other mods if they would mind doing the edit to avoid unnecessary confrontation). Edited and a pm sent to you as a courtesy on recommendation by others.
Sometimes i think it *is* important to edit each others posts when we may have initentially or unintentially said something that may cause offence.
I slagged off some re-enactors thoughtlessly on a public viewable forum a week ago and rich quite rightly edited my post as winding up an event host is not a great idea, similarly Kermit has edited a joke i made on the die glocke forum that he found offensive.
We are not all online 24 hours and some of our access is erratic or infrequent, sometimes things are best clipped first and explained later lest the folk who coudl take offence see it.

And it should be noted that at the time Gadge complained to me very strongly and WWIII nearly started. I'm glad that he's calmed down somewhat and now sees why I did it.
It's better that the editing was done first and then the argument can be done behind closed doors.

If i see something i think in all honesty needs adjusting promptly then i will (as i would expect you to do to my posts should i say something unnecessary) clean it up before anything hits the fan.

Well going back to the first post, I bought my son a glock 17 for his birthday, he carried it around every where, and one day I found it in his sprots bag under his clothes, sraight away I shouted at him -"what the hell did you have this in your school bag for!?"
So he explained he was so attactched to it, he had put in his pocket in the morning and forgot it was there, so the next thng he know, is he's in a private school locker room, goes to get his locker key out - oh shit theres a Glock iny pocket, quickly shiv into my sports bag, it just shows how easy it is two do, and how easy it would be should it have been a real gun for another Virgina tech incident to happen.
